Language points
The students are talking about when to have a class meeting.
meeting是名詞，意為“會(huì )議，集會(huì )；會(huì )面”，作“聚會(huì )”解時(shí),多指出于偶然的機會(huì ),在某地與某人相遇。
meeting作“會(huì )議”解時(shí),指任何有組織的、有領(lǐng)導的、公開(kāi)的或私下的各種集會(huì ),多在室內舉行,目的是商討議案、作出決定等。
如：The meeting will deal with these problems.
Our meeting in Beijing was later than I expected.
meeting用作主語(yǔ),謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞多用單數形式。 meeting前常加介詞at,表示“在會(huì )議上”；而表示“在會(huì )議期間私下說(shuō)話(huà)”則用介詞in。
What will happen if they have the party today?
if作為連詞，引導條件狀語(yǔ)從句，表示“假如”、“如果”等。引導條件狀語(yǔ)從句最常用的連詞是if，表示在某條件下，某事很可能發(fā)生，主句不能用be going to表示將來(lái)，而應該用shall，will。
如：If you leave now, you will never regret it.
如果你現在離開(kāi)，你將絕不會(huì )后悔。
if 引導的條件狀語(yǔ)從句，其結構為：If＋一般現在時(shí)，主語(yǔ)＋shall/will+動(dòng)詞原形。要注意在狀語(yǔ)從句中有一個(gè)規則是“主將從現”，即主句是將來(lái)時(shí)，則從句要用一般現在時(shí)表示將來(lái)。 如：
If it rains tomorrow, I shan’t climb the hills.
如果明天下雨, 我將不會(huì )爬山。
What will Mark organize?
organize是動(dòng)詞，意為“組織，籌備”,過(guò)去式是organized，即組織某人或某事物，將某人或某事物編入組織或系統，使之相互聯(lián)系，且每一個(gè)體在組織中都有其恰當的作用或職責，如：
I believe I have the ability to organize a party.
我相信我有能力組織一次社交聚會(huì )。
Don’t ask them to organize the trip. They’ll only screw everything up.
別讓他們組織此行。他們準得把一切都搞糟了。
organized還可作形容詞，意為“有組織的，有條理的”，
如：An organized program of advertisements.
有組織的大規模的廣告計劃。
